PITTSBURGH PENGUINS PERSONAL BANK CHECKS The Pittsburgh Penguins are one of the oldest teams in the NHL. They were added during the 1967-68 NHL Hockey Season at a time when the NHL doubled in size from 6 teams to 12 teams. The Penguins were one of the 6 expansion teams that the NHL added that year. Lemieux led them to many wins and many great years of service until he finally retired in 2005. However, the Penguins picked up what has appeared to be a phenomenal replacement with Sidney Crosby.
